BoohooDIY

Boohoomaxidress4 Boohoomaxidress Boohoomaxidress9
Maxi dress - c/o Boohoo + DIY // Hat - River Island // Sandals - Topshop // Bag - La Moda

I love a good bit of DIY, so when Boohoo asked if I'd like to get involved in their latest campaign which involves customising your own festival outfit I said HELL YEAAAH. Well, actually, I just said 'yes please', but in my head I was shouting HELLZ YEAH. Basically Boohoo are encouraging you to share your customised creations with them on Twitter and Instagram using the hastags #boohooSWAG and #boohooDIY and then they'll re-post their favourites. I've got a bit of an obsession with collar necklaces just now so I decided to glue a permanent one on the collar of this dress and also add some studs to the shoulders. It was a painstaking process and a few times I had a bit of a tit-fit a la Ballistic Bob from Chewin' the Fat but I got there in the end and am pretty pleased with how it turned out. Since finishing uni I've been going a bit crazy on the DIY-front (a girl's gotta kill time somehow and it was either that or tidy my room) so I'll be popping my efforts up on my blog over the next couple of weeks. If they don't fall apart in the meantime, that is.

I'm sending out all blog sale orders tomorrow so, if you see anything you like tonight, give me a wee e-mail!

P.s Despite how it looks, I'm not absolutely raging in that second photo. I'm not really sure what happened to my face.

Emerald City

lavishaliceshirt2 lavishaliceshirt10 lavishaliceshirt lavishaliceshirt6 lavishaliceshirt7
Shirt - c/o Lavish Alice // Dungarees - Vintage // Hat - River Island // Necklace - H&M

How cute is this shirt from Lavish Alice? I'm always moaning that the shirts I own don't have detailed cuffs so I'm so excited to finally own one. I wore it again to lunch with my brother today and kept shoving it in his face and telling him how nice a colour it was which, strangely, I think he got bored of pretty quickly. Emerald's one of my favourite colours so I piled on this necklace from H&M and my Story ring  like some sort of colour co-ordinating maniac. Anyway, enough about me and my emerald fetish, Lavish Alice have just had a massive drop of new stuff and it's pretty amazing if I do say so myself, you can check out the full collection here

Now that I'm finished uni I've finally got round to the mammoth task of clearing out my wardrobe so have been adding a few bits and bobs to my blog sale here. There'll be more added over the next couple of days too once I get into the swing of thaaangs.

Friendship fun

You know when you order something online and then spend every day watching your letterbox hoping that it'll pop through? That's how I was with this dress. I was one step away from harassing the postman - "Are you SURE it's definitely not in your bag??" - but I managed to refrain myself, mainly because I don't want a lawsuit on my hands. It finally arrived this weekend so I put it on straight away and oh my I'm in love. My only advice would be to size up, which is what I did and it fits perfectly. Oh, and don't eat chocolate while you're wearing it... the dress is already in the wash, yes. Links of London were kind enough to send me one of their friendship bracelets to try out as well and they're just beautiful, so dainty too. I went for a pastel-y one but they've got lots of different patterns in stock, including some najavo ones that would look amazing for summer. My Mum actually bought one of their friendship bracelets a wee while back so I guess that this means she pretty much has to be my friend now whether she wants to or not. Eh, Mum?..

Hello...?

I also picked up these boots in the Topshop sale a few weeks ago after dilly-dallying for a couple of days and am so glad I did in the end. They're so comfy that my feet practically wept with happiness when I put them on. No blisters this week, guys, we're ok.

Getting on a bit

I am forever cold. I'm one of those annoying people who have the heating on in summer and permanently has hands that, after they touch you, will leave you feeling like someone's just slapped you with a block of ice. For this reason I'm always looking for the perfect summer cover-up, something that's still warm but doesn't instantly out me as a human snowman, and I finally found exactly what I was looking for over at MeeMee. Sayonara goosebumps! I'm off to a festival in August so I've already pegged this as an essential. Unless it's raining... then my good old friend parka'll be getting an outing.

We had a proper sunny day today (huzzah!) so me and my little bruv had a day out. There's only one shop in our village and it just got a Mr. Whippy machine - big news - so we stocked up on ice cream and went for a wander, finally finishing up in the park playing on the roundabout. Big. Mistake. I honestly thought I was going to chunder my ice cream everywhere. You know that episode of Modern Family where Phil realises he's too old for the theme park? That was me. And what a sad realisation it was, first I finish uni and now this. I need to get myself some jelly shoes so I can revert back to being a child pronto.

In other (unrelated, as always) news, if any of your ladies out there are looking to get into modelling then make sure and check out the Luxe Models site. Baby love

Babydoll dress - c/o Sheinside ***// Sheer black top - Motel (20% off with code thelittemagpie_1) // Bag - La Moda

I am officially no longer a uni student, hehhh. I handed in my last ever essay today so am celebrating with my flatmate in the only way I know how - with a Dominos. My essay topic had a lot to do with fate and my hand-in date just so happened to fall on Two for Tuesdays, you do the maths. I'm pretty sure this dress will come in handy tomorrow as it's got just the right amount of floatiness to it to accommodate a Dominos belly. However, I'm off on holiday in two weeks so I'm going to need to think of a better plan to disguise my belly then. Or just, y'know, exercise...

Nahhhhhh.

If I'm comfy I'm happy

lashesoflondontrousers5 lashesoflondontrousers lashesoflondontrousers3 glamoroussheerjumper3 Sheer jumper - c/o Glamorous // Floral print trousers - Lashes of London // Heels - Glamorous // Bracelet - Story by Kranz & Ziegler

Oh man this was a comfy outfit, I think this is why I look so happy in all of the photos. I won these trousers last week in a giveaway and have been pretty much living in them ever since. I don't actually have a lot of summer-appropriate bottoms so these were perfect for a wee walk in the sun with Rob, even if he's not a fan (they're 'a bit too urban' for him, haw haw). The Lashes of London website is too good at the moment, so make sure and give it a wee browse if you haven't already - I've decided this kimono needs to make its way into my summer wardrobe pronto. Anyway, I digress . . . I popped this Glamorous jumper on with the trousers because I've finally learned my lesson that, just because it looks really sunny outside, doesn't actually mean it's going to be warm. I absolutely love the jumper - I've got it rolled up here (ker-azee, I know) but most of the time I've had it on it's been rolled down and under my dungarees. Yes, I'm still dressing like a ten year old.

I'm in the middle of my (last ever!) uni essay at the moment and have found a million and one ways to procrastinate today but I think it's finally time to face the music. How else am I going to justify a Made in Chelsea break?

Hey skort

sheinsidewhiteskort sheinsidewhiteskort2 glamorouswhitecroptop2
Skort - c/o Sheinside (only £15!) // Leather jacket - Topshop (similar here) // Crop top - c/o Glamorous // Bracelet (worn as necklace) - Story by Kranz & Ziegler

Yes, that is indeed a skort. If my eight year old self knew she'd one day get to wear a skort again she'd be in her element. When I first saw them floating about again I wasn't convinced, but as soon as I put this badboy on I remembered why I loved them so much - I am the clumsiest person ever, and trip over my own feet at least four times a day... if I do it in a skirt the poor person behind me gets a nice view of my rear, if I do it in a skort, WHO CARES. Oh the freedom. I popped it on with this crop top from Glamorous to make, what Rob called, a 'Persil advert outfit'. Well, look Ma, no stains! That's got to be a first.

Also, thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last post! I'm still feeling a bit delicate after my dissertation so they put a big smile on my downtrodden face. Now, I'm off to stuff my face with fajitas and catch up on Fringe with Rob. Poifect.
